Try to record in screen coordinates. In the QM Recording dialog, instead of Window select Screen. Or use keys instead of mouse.
men works only with standard menus, like in Notepad. With some menus, like in QM, works when you use numeric menu id but does not work when you use string.
Standard menus and some other menus also can be selected as accessible objects.
